If you’re someone who spends hours swiping through dating sites searching for someone with an adorable dog, a new app may provide the answer you’re looking for.
Dig – branded the dog person’s dating app – aims at matching you with someone who will love your pet as much as you do. Or allow you to meet someone you can get a dog with in the future.
You won’t have to waste time sifting through singletons who later reveal themselves to be a ‘cat person’ ever again, with profiles containing information on both dater and dog.
As well as entering all the usual information about yourself, you can also add your dog to the profile and users can filter by dog size and personality to ensure a happy match.
Each day the app presents you with five fellow dog lovers to choose from, and will even suggest dog-friendly dates nearby if sparks fly.
If you have a dog that doesn’t get along with others, you can filter the search to people without dogs, so it’s a match for your buddy too.
It says: “Dog people are always looking for ways to get dogs in their lives. You’ll linger near the dog park’s fence, you’ll repeatedly offer to dog-sit while your friends are away, and you’ll scan every dating app for photos of potential matches with dogs at their sides.
“If you’re lucky enough to own a pup, you know that things never work out with someone if they’re not as into your dog as you are.
“So, Dig founders Casey and Leigh Isaacson built a dating app that connects people based on what’s most important to them: their dogs.
“Set your preferences and dog-owning status, so everyone knows the pup in your photos is actually yours and not just a friend’s dog you borrowed for extra likes.”
Just search Dig dating app and away you go. So long cat people.
